We spoke with food trucks specialists at Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) about which are coming to market, and why.

“The food truck market is expanding very fast and that means that a lot of protein proteins are going into the market,” says Raghavan Muthu, a senior analyst with the Food and Agricultural Organization of India (FAI).

“It is not the case of just one company producing it, but a lot more companies are coming out of the food truck business.”

A few of the most popular trucks in the food trucks market, like Bajrangi, Aparat, and Laxmi, are mostly made in the region and are imported by a number of Indian food processing companies.

“Most of the Indian food truck operators have their own factories and their own processes.

They’re all doing their own thing,” Muthun says.

“But with the growth of the global food industry, food trucks are coming into the food processing business and the food processors are taking the meat and dairy and cooking the food and shipping it to their own restaurants, to supermarkets and to restaurants in other countries.”

Muthun points out that the global industry is still quite small, but there is a lot that is happening in the Indian market.

“There is a real need for more proteins,” he says.

The food trucks industry has been in a precarious situation for quite some time.

The industry has witnessed a lot growth in the past five years, but it has not been enough for many companies to keep up with the pace.

“It’s not sustainable for a lot companies.

We have to start again,” says Muthuk.

Muthu believes that the demand for protein products in the market will only grow in the near future.

“The demand for proteins in food processing is going to go up in the next five to 10 years,” he adds.

The demand for food products that are used in manufacturing and food processing has also increased in recent years.

“So it is not only the demand, but also the supply, that will grow.

The supply will be growing,” he predicts.”

There are many companies, like LaxMI and Bajrakati, that are making protein products for the global markets, including in India,” Molloy says.

While many of the top brands are now in the space, other food trucks like Baji, Aperi, and Rana have also been around for some time and are also expanding their operations.

Mollu adds that Lax MI and Baja are making their presence known in the India market as well.

“In the food service industry, there are several food truck companies, and some are good, some are bad.

But there is also a lot in between,” Muhu says.”

LaxMI has been making protein for some years, and they have also made a good product.

They are trying to grow their business in India as well,” he points out.

Molloy points out the growth in food trucks is happening at a time when the Indian economy is still reeling from the financial crisis.

“Food is not a very big issue for India, but the food industry is not as healthy as it was in the 1980s,” he notes.

“In the 1990s, food was cheap, but in the years of 2008 and 2009, food prices started going up.”

The growth in demand for meat and milk products in India, which is the major protein consumer, has helped fuel the demand.

“Indian consumers are very concerned about food safety,” Mulloy adds.

“They are looking for food that is safe and nutritious and safe and wholesome.”

Molloys points out food safety is one of the reasons why the global supply chain is moving towards Indian processing companies to reduce the cost of production.

“We have to make sure that food that we produce is safe, that the food is nutritious and that the products are safe,” he stresses.
